Engine transfer

I think i heard someone on here say that you can use a 4000s front end and tranny which shares a bellhousing with the watercooled VWs. There is a company i saw on VWvortex that makes bellhousing adaptors for a # of engines, i believe that had adaptors for a couple of porsche motors and newer audis, also for american V8s, i would love to see a 302 twin turbo in a coupe..... with an engine management system such as 034 or megasquirt and a bellhousing adaptor the conversion could be possible, you would still have to fabricate engine mounts... but that should be pretty simple for someone with fabrication experience... just have to align everything up nicely. But why not just go with a 20v turbo or even built 10v turbo... seems like simular power for less money and work... but thats just me.
