Default Fixed the CV boot today...

Took me maybe 20 mins to pull the axle, and then an hour to remove the CV joint from the axle. Geez that was a PITA to get it off! The sound it made when it popped off was extremely satisfying...

Default yikes... i think it took me an hour to do the entire R&R :-P

glad you got it all done... and hope you didn't get grease everywhere (though it's next to impossible not to).

Default You need to use the right hammer...

A wimpy claw hammer won't do. Something heavy will pop the joint right off.

Default You are lucky..

I eas trying to 'pound' the CV joint off the front driveshaft on the urq. No way was it coming off. Tried and tried, even with a huge hammer.

Then I remembered it is the same driveshaft as on the rear of a 4kq. I wonder...?

Sure enough, once I undid the circlip that was hiding in the grease, the CV joint came right off.. :-)

(Just so you know: Front 4kq CV joint just pop off *without* having to undo a circlip!)
