my '84 4kq has always been real water tight (trunk excluded) and i have never had any water in the cabin, but i found a good amount of water in the glovebox and the compartment to the left of and below the steering wheel today.. car was parked in my school parking lot like it was all last year, nothing different since then.. although we did have a pretty good rain the last couple days.. windshield seal maybe?

it went from absolutely no leakage to about an inch in my glovebox.. i do have a cracked windshield.. one crack about 3/4 across the middle of the horizontal axis leading down to the corner and through the seal.. i wonder if a bump sent everything out of whack

that wouldnt really lead to water all under the dash would it?.. no leaking around the sunroof

There is a lot of padding under the carpet that can conceal smaller leaks.
Now that you got four times the normal heavy rain - it becomes obvious.

I didn't think I was getting any significant water in my trunk - till I just pulled up the foam liner.
