Hey, my fuel pump is crapping out.. I thought the buzzing noise in the car was from the tappets, it was driving me nuts. A freind of mine in the car got in and ask what was wrong with my pump, turns out it was the pump buzzing really loud. Blau had them for 200 bucks, so i checked out advance and they had some no-name for 350! I'll go with Bosch, thanks. What I wanted to know, is would this pump cause some of the rough idle i have? I need to clean the ISV, but could this cause power problems, or does the fuel pump either work or not?
And, what fuel filter should i replace my old one with? Is there anything better than OEM?
Thanks!!

Correct me if Im wrong anyone, but I thought Ive heard that hear many times. I got my fuel filters (still not installed) from PMC, and they are original equipment. They have lasted this long, why not go with them again. I dont know of any other fuel filters besides OEM anyways. PMC also has fuel pumps....

Getting a new Bosch fuel pump just because it buzzes during temperature changes is a total waste of money. If it's failing, you will know it..believe me. Your car won't run at all.

by connecting a direct pressure reading gauge, and reading its output pressure.
Never "***-u-me" things are going bad!
Always verify them with test equipment or proceedures!
Plus there are places to find fuel pumps for much less $$$$

I had a very quiet pump die with no warning.
The replacement pump (used) buzzes like a bee hive, and has been doing so for, oh, four years now.
So buzzing does not necessarily mean imminent death.
Get a used one, fill it with ATF, plug the ends and carry it with you. Cheaper than a new one (it's what I do).
