Default with my line of work, i've driven some pretty spendy rigs. the most exspensive is probably..

a bentley. i don't remember the year or model, but it was brand new. it was trailered here for the owner who bought it elsewhere. he wanted it cleaned up and detailed when it got off the trailer.

man was that a sweet car! total luxery. beautiful silver paint. when it was done, i got to drive it home to the guy. what a ride. i took my time so i could enjoy it. all i know about the price is the owner told me to be careful "because the car's worth over $250k". i was careful.

i guess, technically, the monster truck was worth more than the bentley, but that wasn't street legal. it did have 1500 horsepower. what a fun ride. it was so cool of him to let me drive it around a bit. that was probably closer to $500k or so.

Default New 2000 BMW 5 series V8, 110mph driving a Dupont exec to the airport . .

I used to work for an investment holding company doing computer systems work. But it was a small office, and sometimes the rich and quirky CEO/owner would ask someone to shuttle a bigwig to the airport. One day I get a phone call from the CEO's secretary. "Can you take Mr. Dupont VP to the airport? You can drive Mr. CEO's brand new BMW".

Next thing I know I'm playing chauffeur on I70 in Indianapolis, doing my usual 65 or so in a 55 zone. Well, Mr. Dupont VP was in a HURRY, and says "I know this thing can go faster, can you step it up please." So I kick up to 80mph and level off.

"I really need to get there quickly, go faster" he says, to which I replied "If you pay the ticket". Without batting an eye he says "OK, no problem". So I floor it and quickly hit 110mph, and the new V8 Beemer tracked and rode like half that! No tickets and no drama, just 110mph across Indianapolis towards the airport in German luxury and performance. He hardly said a word as he got out of the car, punctuating our trip with a stoic "thanks".

No, thank YOU.
