Default FYI: CV Shafts for Coupe GT 2.3

Just so others know, the cv driveshafts for the Coupe GT 2.3 are now NLA from Audi, even as remans. The correct part numbers are:

Left: 855 407 271
Right: 855 407 272

If you see the part numbres followed by a -x that indicates a remanufactured part. NLA new, NLA reman. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do at this point...

Default That's not good...what's wrong with your axle?

Only resort would be find a place that will rebuild it. I know when I got my axle replaced, I got a remanufactured one and that was screwed up so we sent it back and they rebuilt it for me. I think the place was named A1 something. Can't really remember.

Default I didn't want to give you false info, because Euro ETKA says 'dropped without replacement'..

...and that's a mid-'05 version...my US version is a little older and didn't say they had been dropped...so...I figured there might have been hope...

Default Why do you need the whole axle? ,,why not just put a new CV join on then end, and perhaps new boots

on the inner?

That said I tried to check if Altrom had CV joints and none were showing. I wonder if CV joints from later 80 model would fit?

Default Re:Call Blazer Automotive, Englewood, Colorado

Larry will know the answer/source. They've been taking care of my cars for over 13 years.
(303) 722-3032. Sometimes is less expensive to replace the whole transaxle. I got a rebuilt one for 150.00 less that the parts to replece the CVs boots and berrings.
