Default Gauging Interest Thread, JHM short shifter for 4000's

I have been talking to Jason Harbison owner of JHMotorsports about building a short shifter for the 4000 model of cars. His short shifters / modified linkages for other audi models have been nothing short of amazing and with awesome reviews and results.

We will be using this thread to gauge the overall interest in this product to see if it will be worth designing / manufacturing the product as far as unit numbers go.

also what other audi models use the same exact shifter as the 4k?

please post below to express your interest in this product, as we will be using replies in this thread to measure interest.

if you are also on Motorgeek.com please use this thread for your reply

and it would eliinate pushdown/ plastic ball parts etc, oh yeah and looking at making bushing parts for the trans end of the selector rod etc, more parts than what comes in that kit

Default Now you are talking...

Part #29 in the above diagram (PN# 431 711 221 "ball socket") is now NLA. This part wears out on higher mileage cars and time isn't friendly to the rubber, any reproductions would be a big help. I don't see why you would want to eliminate the push down system for reverse, its there for a reason.

Default what reason? audi is the only company to do this, are we the only ones who need it?

yeah the one i made of a b3/b4 shifter and oem parts combined is already way better.

a final product will be amazingly better, esp with the sphreic bearings for selector rod etc

Default No, I'd rather have a version that fits my coupe.... which nobody makes :-(

'81 to '84 coupes and 4000s use a totaly different linkage, they also have a cable operated clutch!
