Im definatly thinking about buying these lights. Just a question though... How much of an improvement are they. As everybody knows old audi lights suck. (I think volkswagons lights sucked too) Will these lights improve night lighting to the standards of a normal car with Halogens? (Not Xenons) Or are they more like fog lights that dont light up squat...

if you want to be able to see where you are going.
The only down side is that they are so bright, you won't really be able to use them with oncoming traffic. They are driving lights, so they project a fairly narrow beam at close range, but spread nicely at a distance. You will be able to see signs and reflectors that you never knew existed.
I have 500's on my 80' Scirocco, and 550's on my A1 GTI. Luckily the 4K came with euros, but will soon be fitted with 550's if I can get them to fit in the lower grill.<ul><li><a href="http://www.hella.com/produktion/HellaPortal/WebSite/Internet_en/ProductsServices/ForDriversAccessories/LightTunnel/InfoLightTunnel/InfoLightTunnel.jsp">Hella Light Tunnel</a></li></ul>

They absolutely light up the night! So much so that you have to aim them carefully or you will get someone pissed off. The only thing about these, is they are way fragile. You'll notice the housing is plastic, right? Well, that cracks off if you aren't careful. Both lenses cracked on mine as well. If you do mount them to the top of your bumper, you'll need a special kit to do that as under the plastic there is a space, then some aluminum.
Now, one thing I have to add here, is PIAA makes these fantastic driving lights that are all steel and come pre-wired with relay. No fabricating is necessary, just plug n play. PIAA 40's and they cost me $125 at the local offroad shop (I have a Jeep). The beam pattern is very similar and they put out good, white light.
