Help needed fixing hood release cable..!
I've recently replaced the hood cable on my quattro, due to the previous owner breaking the handle off on the inside...
I got the good cable out of the parts car, and in my removal of the broken cable on the quattro, I must have screwed up the rigging on the driver's side 'golf tee' release...
I got it tightened on the psgr side, but now when I pull the handle, the psgr side releases, but the cable slides right thru the releasing mechanism on the driver's side... Has the white fitting (also looks like a smaller golf tee) got more to it than what I'm seeing?
As it is now, I still have to pop the driver side by hand... I was thinking about rigging some of those locking plastic zip-ties around the releasing mechanisms, thus creating a hand-pull tool that could reside in the grill area for easy access... Any ideas?
Thanks,
MartyH

It must not be aligned right
Making sure the proper tension is on the cable can be frustrating. This takes trial and error.
Untension it with a socket then retension and try opening it again.
