Default how does one repair a gas tank leak?

J and I removed the gas tank from the audi and checked to see if there was a leak. We poured some gas in it to find out and saw leakage coming from the hose fittings on the tank itself. Someone recommended using 'liquid aluminum' which can be found at P&A Autoparts, but i thought i'd check in with you all for ideas first.

Default The ultimate sealer is Red Kote sloshing compound

This stuff is aviation fuel tank reliner and is sold by the pint and quart at most radiator repair shops. It's a liquid vinyl like product, that you pour into a dry tank, slowly slosh around to coat the inside, then pour out what hasn't been needed. You'll never have a problem with leaks, holes, rust, etc., etc. again.

One word of caution: Follow the directions! Make sure you keep the vent tubes and pickup tube remain clear!!!

In your case, I'd pour in just enough to coat the bottom and that's it.

I've used it twice now and it is the only way to go! I've also seen a similar product called "Johnson's" I believe. It was the same stuff, just blue instead of red.

I've used 2 part epoxy before, was clear stuff the boat restorer next door gave to me, had to work fast, the stuff got hot, melted the cup partially, and hardened in a minute or two. The area you are trying to seal must be shiny metal, if you think the area is 'clean enough' it isn't ready for the epoxy yet. I've used store bought epoxy with good results too.
