Default How intensive is a clutch master and slave cylinder swap?

I am currently sans car due to a failure in the clutch system, either the master or the slave, so i'm going to replace both, how long should i expect to spend(with the rule of 3) replacing these? and how difficult is it?

Default If you can get the pin out......

Its a few hours tops. Plan on 2 days worth of work. I did it when it was 90+ degrees and humid in the blazing September sun. Wasn't pleasant at all. I also did the brake proportioning valve and bled the entire brake and clutch system. Small hands are a plus too.

Default well if the slave's newer (which it's probably not if the nipple broke).. maybe you could but..

you could probably find a replacement through someone who has the nipple from an old slave, but for the $40, just replace the whole thing while you're dealing with it anyways

Default Well...

I talked to the previous owner today (hes my brother) and he said he replaced the slave and master before i bought it and fixed it, roughly 6-8 months, i broke the valve by tightening it too much. I am inclined to think its that and should have thought of it sooner.

Where can i get a replacement valve???

Default As others have said

If you can get the slave pin out of the transmission its pretty simple, actually. I use a 3/16th punch and a hammer to wack the pin out of there, then a screwdriver and hammer to hammer the slave towards the back of the car.

You are very wise to replace both at the same time
