Default How long should it take to pull a head? (from junkyard)

I'm thinking of grabbing a 5k Turbo head/cam this weekend. My car has the famed broken exhaust manifold stud. So instead of just fixing the head I was just going to do a head swap... maybe.

Just wondering how long I should plan on spending at the yard? Any funky or special tools I need to bring? Just a standard set of sockets? Anything else I should get? What about the Intake or Throttle body? any benefit to those?

Thanks all.

Default Headbolts use a special bit/socket/dealie

I think it's a triple square like the CV joint bolts, but I can't remember.

Default Yup, triple squares, get those...

Your going to either have to remove the manifolds from the head or the downpipe from the exhaust manifold. Ive never removed the head on the car, but it doesnt seem all that hard.
Remove valve cover to access head bolts, remove timing belt, remove downpipe (if removing head with manifolds attached). There are other things too, but those seem to be the major ones.

Default Dallas knows I'm joking, eh.

& if he doesn't tough for him, he's only 1 of those Kanadian's.

Come up & watch the plasma cutting instead of fixing your car.
