i bought the cgt shortly before we started dateing. it was a huge thing when i started to let her drive it. since i have bought the car only 3 people have driven it. if i take it in for tires or something, i drive it in, i don't let them. so i have driven it, my wife, and an audi mechanic i was freinds with when i was at the dealership, but he only drove it to diagnose with me in the car.

i got the car in 88. the personalized paltes have been on them since 88. my wife and i started dateing in 89. this car has always been liscensed in my name only. we have always called it my car. my wife has never felt like it was anything but my car. i tell her it's her's too but she just says it's my car and always will be.

so, after 20 years, i am just going to do it. for christmas i am giving her the new title with her name on it right by mine. it sounds like such a simple thing, but it really means alot. i bet she'll cry.

she'll get other gifts from me but that one will probably be the highlight and have alot of effect on her.

i can't wait.

Not much to the story, just that I've had the red '84 CGT since about '97 or so(maybe late '96). Started seeing <i>wife</i> since '98.
Taught her to drive w/ it in '00.

Not many have driven it either (me, <i>wife</i>, father, oldest daughter &amp; 1x a mechanic during early ownership for a distance of ~100').


I can see how 84gtguy's wife would see it as something special, hence me wanting to hear how it turns out.

else drive it, or put their name on the title means sooooo much. i know it was a special day for my now wife, when i let her drive it the first time.

she, and everyone else, knows what the car means to me. my family new my wife and i were very serious when they saw her drive my car. i wouldn't even let my dad drive it. and he asked many times! : )
