I purchased a 1984 audi 4000 S with the 2.2L 5cly about 7 months ago and im getting TERRIBLE gas milage and i dont know why im getting 220kms to a full 60 Litre tank. I really need to figure out the problem with the car cause its taking a tole on my wallet. Also i was wonderign you guys had any tips on getting some more power to the car because it is pretty sluggish any ideas?

The cis-e fuel injection system was a durable system.If the engine seems to otherwise run fine, try an oxygen sensor.A set of spark plugs are inexpensive and easy to replace, if the wires, cap and rotor are old, replace them too.Check the timing.Start with the easy, basic items first before getting involved in the more complicated stuff! Oh...may want to double check the air filter (just in case you haven't already), and make sure the air flow sensor plate on top of it is clean.

as far as adding power the best power adder is a high lift camshaft...034 sells a really good one and it gives you a good excuse to replace tapping lifters
