Which is a copper-nickel alloy. Used by Volvo since the '70's but by precious few others. Difficult to find aftermarket so I would expect his is copper.
Copper is not recommened for fuel/brake lines as it's not rated to handle the pressure and is prone to cracking, like you said.
Many garages and shade-tree mechanics use copper because it's easy to bend. I wouldn't trust it with my life.
