I show the starter bolts at 18 ft lb. That seems a bit light. Is 18 ft lb actually correct?

I show the starter bolts at 18 ft lb. That seems a bit light. Is 18 ft lb actually correct?

I have 2 old Hayes and Chilton manuals. One says 14, the other says 18. What's Bentley say?

I have to spec torque everything. My Audi friends call me 'Torquie'...I'm just weird that way.

Default I would think the lower bolt, the one that has a nut on the back of the bell housing would need to

be pretty snug. But I don't know the exact specs.

Default I always rely on 'good'nough tight' for my stuff :-P

only thing that really get torqued to spec is the stuff that goes boom or holds the products of the boom together... namely, exhaust manifold, IM, head, etc. Otherwise I trust my calibrated arm
