No wonder I like to leave the car at the indoor parking lot at work for 2 weeks at a time!

I usually park it nose down when it rains - but I left it at the shop during yesterday's downpour and it was parked level. When I opened the trunk water poured out of the lid into the trunk. It seemed to originate 2 inches up from the bottom edge. After trunk mat removal there was water and light rust.

Any good write-ups on pulling all that plastic off the license plate surrounds and what product do I guy to reseal everything? I recall posts that the seal goop on many openings in the trunklid fails and this must be done.

And I though I had a low rust car - (for the North east anyway).

Default Butyl rubber sealer (rope) is what the factory stuff is. I replace it whenever I have a chance..

On mine. Usually when switching to V8 tails ;-)

You can get it at you local FLAPS for not much $$, it comes in a roll of about 10 or more feet, IIRC. I actually still have one I bought years ago.
