Default I want new seats . S4 or TT ? Anyone try yet ?

I want to get some seats for my 4kq . Anyone know which ones would be easier to install ? I thought I saw someone using TT seats on here not too long ago . Also wondering if A4 rear seat would fit as am going to swap my '99 A4 int. for S4 . The A4 front seats have less bolstering than the 20yr. old seats in the 4kq , they are pretty weak . Appreciate any help , Mike .

Default Somebody swapped in A4 front seats, I thought

I agree, some of the newer model seats have very poor support. The S4 seats are nice too.
Im going to *guess* and say that the newer model rear seats will not fit our cars. I personally find the 4kq seats quite supportive and comfortable. UrS4 seats would be a treat!

I agree orig 4k seats are pretty good , but bolsters are shot in my low mileage 4kqt (70kmi , but not in my 200kmi car , go figure )and nice clean older seats are real hard to find . Would like to put something in before Carlisle . I live 45 min. from Audi /VW salvage so I should be able to pick up a set there , just need to figure out best choice .

Default See if you can find a set of VW Jetta or GTI Recaro's

They fit with just a little modification, you won't regret it!

Default rear seats won't fit in a 4k... BTDT...

had a sport interior I wanted to put in the 4kq and it just wasn't worth it.

THe rear seats are higher than the 4k, so you'd need to adapt the rear parcel shelf to fix the gaps, also they stick up in the rear corner windows so you see the padding. You *could* make them to work, but it's really a tight fit and not worth it in my book.

As for the front seats. The track width on the A4 seats are 22" and the 4k is 18", other than that the A4 and 4k seats MOUNT the same. So either with a lot of creative hammering or welding you can make them fit. People have already done so on the board. If you search of my screen name on the 4k board I posted about this and got some good feedback.

If you want a good starting ground I'll gladly sell ya my front seats to my 4k They're faded as hell and the foam is there, but worn a tad. I'm picking up a new interior this weekend (whole interior) for cheap so I won't be needing the seats anymore.

Default What years work for the VW Recaro's

I really want something almost new , I thought only the older Recaros work , I wouldn't mind having the cloth .
