It looks so much better without that cover and I would be able to service it better in the future without it. What do you guys think?

Looks fantastic
Leave the cover on. Why? Its there for a reason and to keep road debris clear. You wouldnt want a rock skipping through the grille and finding its way down near the crank pulley, now would ya? :P
I think the cover looks good on the car if its nicely painted.

i can't remember with the sloped grill.. but on the early flat grill..
that half of it has a backing that prevents anything at all getting to the front of the engine.. so i don't mind having it off

Replace the cover. I left mine off & had ice/snow get in there.
The belt jumped timing & I had a car that wouldn't run & very unpleasant conditions for working on it.
Looks great!

Mines off, I'm gonna put a sceen in back of the grill to catch debris...
I assume that's an aftermarket cam, you should get an adj. sprocket from Techtonics set it to 6° advance (adv. for torque, retard for top end), you'll have killer mid range torque and power all the way up to 5,750 rpm.
