Saturday I was on my way out the door to a friends house to party. Hop in the car, turn parking lights on, nothing. Hmm, so I smack the switch like I usually do and jiggle it around, nothing.
I used to have a problem with the main power wire in back of the plug being loose, so I thought that may be the problem. Got access to the switch and messed with the power wire, no dice.
So, I thought Id try another headlight switch for kicks, it worked! So, I gotta open up the switch and figure out how CGTBrad soldered in those LED's so I can fix mine. At least the lights work again properly

Believe it or not: Parking lights heat the headlight switch up more than the headlights do. All the power for the parking lights comes into the switch on one TINY connector pin, so that pin(and connector) really heats up well.
You want to relay the parking lights to save the switch, and you want to relay the headlights to get more voltage to them.
Also, all the headlight power goes through the ignition switch. So moving the headlights to relays may help save the ignition switch a bit too.

Click for relay information...

check to make sure someone hasn't put higher wattage 1157 bulbs in place of the (what I think are required) 2057 bulb. I checked my tailight bulbs after my switch fried and found that at least 2 of the bulbs (the outers, I think, it's been a while) were the higher wattage bulb. I replaced them with the lower wattage 2057 and didn't notice the parking lights were any dimmer.

When I installed the H4's and harness they were relayed at that point. I'll have to relay the parking lights too, it looks like.
