Default good write-up. Why I might go with leds...

well I will be tinting my tails in the future (prolly this summer) and I won't know if I'll go with LED lights yet until I do it. Basically depending how dark the tint is going to determine how well the stock lights will put light thru the lense. If the light is going to a problem I'll consider LED, if not, they're not needed, as I'm not trying to go for a "look at my lights" look. haha if thats the way people put it haha. Just want to stay safe thats all.

Default Kinda related...

Anyone replace their rear reflectors on CGT (in the bumper) with aux back up lights. I have a pair of "slimline fog lights" from Northern Tool that are the same size rectangle, but the question is....whats behind those reflectors? Do I have serious steel that will cause me to trash the cutting job? I only kind of care about looking okay. The idea is to avoid needing my ***-a-long the next time I misjudge the location of the logging road I tried to hit backwards while returning to campsite from rally spectating in middle of the UP. Sorry post long, just returned from the bar.

Default If you want bright, stock bulbs...

I have a set of 30-LED bulbs in the front from Superbright. While they appear quite bright when powered up, in the socket they pale in comparison to a standard amber 2 filament bulb. As noted by others, it does depend on the way the reflector is oriented around the bulb. I went with LED's for 2 reasons - I believe that the clear corners on the car look better sitting colourless with the headlights off (as shown in the pic), and, over time some of the regular bulbs on my car have melted the surrounding socket plastic (especially on the back of the car). If you use LED's on your turn signals like mine, your signal will flash like a bulb is out. You can either get a resistor to wire-in inline, or just live with the fast blink (like I do).
Cheers!
