Default Looking for a part for my 4KQ

AutohausAZ describes it as an "Air Intake/Breather Hose; Connecting Elbow at Valve Cover" for a 1987 Audi 4000 quattro. P/N is 8034 103 247B. They have it on backorder so I am looking for another source.

Anyone?<ul><li><a href="http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=fuxmdoudk2wvpu45nhnzg255&amp;make id=800002@Audi&amp;modelid=1007536@4000CS%20QUATTR O%20&amp;year=1987&amp;cid=breather@breather&amp;g id=6344@Air%20Intake/Breather%20Hose">Look at it h

Default Apparently NLA....

Some here have fixed it with a giant spring to prevent it from collapsing and sealing it with epoxy, JB Welt, etc.

Wish I knew that a couple months ago... But I was lucky to pick one up from a guy parting his 4kq for cheap.
Quick question... Mine was torn almost completely in half, but didn't seem to affect my idle... Is that odd?

Default I knew what ya meant

I was saying that with that large vac leak you may have other vac leaks contributing to the problem. Fixing a different vac leak and leaving that one there may cause a difference.
Poke around and see what other leaks you can find.

but that's the thing... there wasn't a problem before the boot broke, after the boot broke, or after the boot was fixed.

Default There may have been a vac leak prior

There may have been a leak prior to you finding that leak, thats what I was trying to say. This new leak kind of "masks" the first leak that may be somewhere else.

Sorry, thats what I was trying to get at before.
