What is the main difference between the MC1and the MC2 turbo engine's? (besides 67 horsepower). Im planning on doing the turbo conversion for my 4000CS Quat and am unsure if i should payt the extra $250 For the MC2 then if i can just get the MC1, swap the turbo's and intercooler and be up with an MC2.

downpipe, 2 knock sensors vs 1, a different turbo, basically the mc-2 is more desirable because it is easier to tune and more tunable.

...is the device that detects pinging, knock, detonation, pre-ignition...whatever you want to call it. If it senses detonation, it retards the timing on that particular cylinder until the knock goes away. Be careful with the turbo swap, too, Audi turbo 5's are already pretty laggy. You shouldn't really go bigger than a K26, and even at that, I'd get a 24/26 hybrid(quicker spooling).

Is the compression ratio that is 7.8:1 on the MC1 and 8.4:1 on the MC2. And there's no 67 horsepower difference between them, both of them have 165 DIN horsepower in stock form. The MC1 can take more boost because of the lower compression ratio but the MC2 has less turbo lag because of the K24 turbo and feels better off-boost...
