Default Need Help with oxygen sensor

I need to replace the oxygen sensor on my car (an 85 4000s). I want to pick up a generic sensor and splice it in and I am wondering if anyone has a part number they could tell me. I searched the forum and came up with a bosch part number for a generic 3 wire sensor (03 913) but I belive that that person had a 5 cylinder. Did Audi use all the same sensor on our cars or will this work?

Default Re: Need Help with oxygen sensor

The generic oxs sensor should work fine. I have a ford mustang 5.0 oxs in my Saab 900, it generates the correct voltage, and the LH system likes it just fine. The past two times I have changed an oxs on my 5 cyl, I have had to clean the threads, as bits of the old oxs stayed in the grooves. An 18 mm tap is what you need. Good luck, Cam
