need new pads for the CGT. What do you guys use and where do you get them?

Price ~ performance
As a *very* general guide, I've found that the more expensive the pad, genereally the better performance.
All things being equall, pads have the oportunity to make a BIG difference in how well you stop. A very big difference..
That being said, it'd be great to have access to a bunch of different types to try them out.
Some just suck, some work great, but eat rotors (Not abad tradeoff, if they really work well). Some make lots of dust or squeak.
I'd at least suggest some sort of 'premium' pad from your local parts store.
If you have access to more specialized pads, maybe try one of them. I've tried REpco Metal Master 'semi metallic' pads, and find them a big improvement over 'generic' pads.
May others will have different opinions. A bit like asking 'waht the best oil' question..
But I'd suggest try at least some kind of 'better' pad. It's not like pads are a zillion dollars. If you hate them, you can always try something else before you use them all up, right? :-)
