New to audis, just bought this classic 84
Hey there I just bought an 84 Coupe GT, it's like totally restored shiny tornado red, and my first stick shift car, before I was a ricer, had a honda and two supras but now I've hung up my carbon fiber shift **** for good. I see people are big on trades here so first off I wanted to ask if anyone has the recaro seats from 16valve jetta, or racing any racing seats theyd be willing to trade, I've got two window regulars, and really good apline stereo, some extra door panels, an extra wheel, rearview mirrors and rearview mirror motors, oh and the original unused audi floor mats.
Also from what I've researched apparentyl doing a 5000 turbo swap into this car isn't to hard as long as you don't keep the air conditioning, can anyone contribute any information about this and what it's power potential would be?
Thanks

Welcome. Glad you have joined the "Altezzas are silly" crowd.
I have a link to the turbo swap pages on my web site, along with other fun things you'll probably enjoy reading.
What these cars lack in straight line speed they make up for in good handling and road feel. I sold an '86 CRX Si to buy mine and have never looked back.

Link to my page since I can't remember if it's in my sig or not.

Welcome to AudiWorld.............
Sounds like a nice car. You should post some pictures of it so we could all drool.
Hey and what the deal on the floormats? Unfortunately all my VW stuff has been sold or vaporized, so I have nothing to trade.

I bought the car from BMWM5, and I'm so glad I did. Me and my friend beat a corvette our first day of driving it home, while I'm still getting my shifts into first gear down he's a pro driver and the corvette (it was also red, hehe) was just some loser middleaged guy who couldn't take the turns, I yelled five cylander at him as we flew by, it was badass.
Er well heres one, but how do I post multiple pictures?

No A/C? Don't believe the hype...
I happen to own the car you are asking about building, believe me the CGT responds exceptionally well to a turbo swap! With a chip, wastegate spring, & exhaust it's good for about 220hp. BTW I have A/C too.
Most people will tell you you can't easily keep the A/C in a 10V turbo swap. They are mistaken. A lot of people think my A/C mounts are custom, but they are stock Audi parts.
The MC1 motor from the 5KCSQ has the A/C compressor mounted on the drivers side, not the passenger side. The alternator is on the passenger side, and it clears the turbo easily.
Get those mounts, keep your A/C if you want it. You'd only have to have new A/C lines fabricated (approx $150-200) to reach the new compressor location.
The harder part would be a FMIC. That requires some cutting and welding to be sure.
