My bentley finnaly came in the mail today (along with the haynes version), they came as a package deal.

I am excited! Now i dont have to call Mikey up and ask him to pull out his manual and have him read me the directions. One interesting thing I found while flipping through is that the book has instructions on how to remove alcohol stains from the upholstery. Now I know how to get the burbon stains out of the headliner!!!
anyway, on to the part that I need. The clip that holds the spedo cable onto the back of the speedometer is broken and I need a new one. This is pretty much a bealer part and i am pretty sure they will be out of stock and over priced. I dont want to have to revert to useing duct tape, so does anyone have an extra that they can get their hands on? TIA!

it is definately not the spedo, its a black circular ring that is twisted on to the back of the spedo. It is obvious because a portion of the clip is missing, it snaped because it was so cold when i disconnected the cable.

There is not other piece other than the speedo head and the cable.
You have stumbled into the small parts world called "not user serviceable". You should look for another speedo head.
6 years back, I ran the back end of the VW & Audi dealership as a VW/Audi trained parts master Parts Manager, Service Director, & Certified Tech in Flagstaff for 3+ years.

To get by you can cable tie the speedo cable to another cable or line under the hood to keep it engaged in the speedo or spend $95 at the dealer for a new one. Most old cables out of a car will not last very long.
