The previous owner had it for just over 3 years -- before that it sat in a field for 10-someodd years.
Some of you might recognize it from Vortex or DOG...

The good:
- New clutch
- SuperSprint exhaust
- Electronic ignition conversion
- New cam cover/oil pan gaskets
- B2 Coupe Jamex springs front and rear (with new struts/shocks)
- Front strut housings from a Quantum (w/10" front brakes)
- SS front brake lines
- Refurbished gas tank from Jonathan
- New fuel pump/filter
- Used/good condition windshield.
Plus:
Have 2 boxes of parts, 2 more 13" wheels (car has 14s on the front to clear the bigger brakes and 13s on the rear), the original front suspension bits, rear springs, etc, etc.
It's not in nearly as overall good shape as my 4-door, but it sat in a field for 10+ years -- go figure.
The Bad:
Well, just look at it -- needs the rust fixed, new paint, new decals, etc, etc, etc. The interior needs a makeover as well (headliner, dash, seats need to be re-upholstered, etc, etc.).
Now you might be asking yourself, WHY would Ryan do such a stupid thing...the answer is, love makes you do stupid things. I've been in love with Foxes (especially GTIs) since I learned what they were.
Casie and I were able to work something out -- and he even trailered it all the way from Littleton to me in Fort Collins!
This past week I also got pre-approved to buy my first house -- one of my main requirements being a 2 (or more) car garage! So hopefully in a few months time I'll have a nice, warm garage to work in!
Call me nuts or crazy...I don't care -- I finally have a GTI of my own!

Next step is to assess if there's any further rust that needs addressing -- then start in on the body work and get it prepped for paint/new decals/etc.
Maybe while it's all apart find a 2L or 16V...
Get the interior in order...etc, etc...I really can't wait to have a restored GTI!!
