Anyone else recognize Rimmer, from Red Dwarf? I won't blame you if you don't...he looks totally different without the giant "H" stamped to his forehead.

Stupid superficial researching media...."based on the Iltis" means that it was....

VW were not as successful at producing a 4wd military jeep as Auto Union were, and thus when they purchased AU from Mercedes in 1965 they reworked the Munga into the Iltis by changing the front bodywork slightly and adding a VW 4-cylinder 4-stroke engine. The front and rear differential setup was all Auto Union.
