Not sure about the 4cyl
But check on top of your exhaust manifold just forward of the convertor. Mine was just under the rear of the transmission case. You might not be able to see it unless you're under the car (that was the case for me). If all else fails, just examine every inch of your exhaust manifold. It's somewhere there!

pretty sure its on top of the cat
on the 5 cyl you need to separate the cat from the downpipe, I'd bet the 4 cyl is the same. Also, take note of the year of your model - you may have the 1 wire sensor or the 3 wire.

I didn't need to (well, couldn't) separate my exhaust from the downpipe
since my flange has been cut off and the exhaust welded to the downpipe =( I did manage to get a 7/8" open end on it and with some PB blaster, it came right out.
