Default oil pressure issue

ive gotten done building my NF engine and i dont seem to have oil flow to the cylinder head. When i open the oil filler cap with the motor running i dont see any oil sloshing around.

if i put a gauge in one of the oil ports for the oil pressure switches does anyone know what kind of psi i should see, is that the best place to check?

what other issues could cause this lack of flow to the cylinder head?

thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Default Did you work on the oil pump?

If you put in a new pump, it may need to be primed. See Jeff Doble's threads on how he fixed this when he built his 4K's engine (vaseline into the pump was the trick!!)

I believe my uncle also added some oil additive which I'm not sure was for the initial priming or just good practice when starting a new motor. See link for vasoline remedy.

Default Awesome!

Just changed the oil for the first time a couple weeks ago. Now that the motor is broken in, the car feels as good as ever.

I've got four brand new Boge turbo gas shocks waiting to go in as well as some new strut mounts, tie rods and ball joints. Hopefully that will cure the minor clunking that happens too frequently. Then I can concentrate on the minor problems like door handles, leaky sunroof, etc....
