Default Picture intensive - 85 ITB GT photos including 15x7 Ronals refinished

Whew. It doesn't look like much progress, but some things have been happening!

15x7 Ronals as they started:

after 10 hours of sanding to remove powdercoating:

After Sandblasting:

And painted:

Center console in place (thanks Ted!) and mostly hooked up

Carriers and calipers in place:

Front suspension with 650lb springs

And the passenger fender hung as best I can get it with bumper mounts back and still wrong. Bumper comes Tuesday. Amazingly, I have a complete set of lower grills :-)

Engine goes in on Sunday.

Wish me luck.

Won't be ready for this track:

But I hope to have it ready for this one. Add a blue GT to the photo?

Default Very nice work! I have a suspension question for you....

your pictures appear that you have Bilsetins from what little I can see of the mounting collars. Is this true? If so were they revalved?

Thanks,

-Scott

Default I'm pretty sure the whole setup is Spax

but no info came with them.

Default I have 300/350 lbs on now and I have a set of 500/550 lbs kickin around so.....

I was thinking about throwing them in there but didn't want to blow up my bilsteins. Hummm. Thoughts?

Default I'll tell you this much - it's an Audi motor

and it will be legal for SCCA ITB.

Default Should work -

They won't work the shocks any more than the 350's will - they'll just offer less compliance than the 350's.

Frankly, Having 380's in my slightly lighter GT (the black car) I'm not sure you really want to go with 500's on the road.

Default Thanks for the insight, you're probally right as I use it well over 90% on normal roads...

I use to have a similar setup on my last 90q but being 10 years difference in the body and less weight.... I'll just let it be.
