Default punctured fuel line hose

so the idiot i am, i accidentally punctured the line that goes from the pump to the accumulator. my car is now disabled. called around and dealership wants 40 some odd dollars for it. called the local auto shop and they said they have bulk hose for around 5 bucks. will this type of hose work or will i have to cough up the dough? any suggestions as to where to get it for cheaper than the dealership.

Its just a rubber hose with the fitting on either end, right? If so, you can cut the hose away from the fitting, and put on the new hose and clamp it up. I had to do that on my 4kq in 1997. Its STILL holding!

already cut it off, and the puncture was too far up the hose to cut and attach

You have to remove the whole piece of hose. Try and cut it off where its attached to the fitting.
That's where you have to install the new hose.

Default You'll want some stout hose...

... I believe the fuel pressure from the pump is upwards of 80 lb. Someone with BTDT experience could confirm, or read the Bentley for the static fuel pressure.

Default Most any hardware/autoparts store has hose that handles 120psi and up

I bought some1/4in.hose and used hose clamps to secure it. Make sure it is rated for high pressure and for gas, because i had some problems with the hose falling apart. But it has been several months and i haven't had any problems since. You might as well replace the primary and secondary filters at the same time.

Default bulk hose will work..

take the old hose off and reuse the ends. You can use bulk "fuel injection" hose it'll take the pressure. The key thing to do is size the hose such that it doesn't rub on anything (the OE hose is pre-curved to avoid rubbing) or you'll want to pad it since the parts move around on their bushings.
