Default Hamilton to Orlando and back in 2002....

There was a big bike race in Hamilton in September that they needed to close many of the roads for, so the schools had a week-long holiday. We got a Canadian-at-par deal at Disney so we drove our new Honka CR-V there and back....I mean, everybody did that when we were kids so that must be the cheapest way....right? WRONG! (Fly out of Buffalo, rent a car in Florida....that's cheaper)
Highlights:
- Driving into Washington, Pennsylvania on the first night, screech owl passed about 12" above the windshield...we drove for about 10 minutes before I said "What was that?"....we found a motel shortly after that
- Deserted Disney park (1st anniversary of Sept 11th) - no lineups, could stay on rides forever if you wanted, Dubya's speech broadcast on PA to the nearly empty park...weird.
- Father-in-law telling us that September was hurricane season in Florida....just as we were preparing to leave.
- Cape Canaveral.....whoa!.....
- being chased out of Florida by the remains of a hurricane

The longest single stretch of driving I have personally done was a straight shot from Kansas City to Hamilton - 14 hours with only gas stops. I'll never do that again.
Cheers!

Default Ontario IS huge!

Our family drove through it on the way to Victoria, BC - by the time we left Ontario we were about half way to the coast!
Cheers!

It was for spring break, so we could "legally" drink before we were 21.

Default If all at once then 32 hours (SF Bay to St. louie). no driver change... but if NOT all at once...

Then it would be my graduation road trip.. put 7800 miles on my first 20v on the trip.

SF Bay -> Scotsdale AZ -> Disney World Florida -> Philly PA -> Green Bay Wisconsin -> SF Bay Area CA.. I was on the road for about 2 weeks visiting friends & family (and 2 different parts stores along the way). Never had to stay in a hotel the way I mapped it all out.

I am a huge fan of road trips...

Default Annapolis to Road America in the CGT...

Annapolis to Miami in the 5K, and austin to Annapolis....twice.. once in a rental truck and once in a toyota highlander... I liked the drives to RA the best..!!!!

Sillyest long trip was Annapolis to South Haven Mi, to run Gingerman... for 4 hours.. then turn around and come home...lol
