comparing the two parts.. i guess i should have done a bit more research. they arent quite the same shape, nor do they have the same mounting points. seller claims it came from an 86 4k.

anything i can do? or do i just need to find a different one?

thanks

Default no that didnt come from a 4k....

the mounting points should be the same as on the diff lock panel since they mount in the same place to the console trim.

you need to find the correct panel.

Default well, its not a b3 panel, and it could have come from a 4k..

it's got the horizontal print on the face, so it's an older style gauge. The <'85 cars mount with tabs on the top and then 2 screws coming up from the bottom through the ashtray, like that one. So my bet is it's from an older FWD or CGT.. also could be from an old rabbit or other similar vw

i just woke up and man i'm tired. i saw the seconds in the time we posted, saw "24" and "54" and thought it was the same, didn't even look at the minutes which were also different.
