Nothing too special.. I just ride most places I bike, or go with a friend that has a rack... But will need to transport my bike via the 4k soon...
Any thoughts? Price an issue.. I'll use it maybe twice a month.

You can get one that hangs off the end of the car or you can get a rooftop one... I'm a big fan of the rooftop Thule stuff for the fact that you can get different attachments for skis/snowboards as well as your bike.

I use a Yakima setup. The towers are for cars w/ rain gutters. Depending on how much you want to carry...the small load bars (~48")should work. I got the setup from REI on sale, including two Boa bike attachments. Toatl was around $210.00 Hope this helps.

he has a thule rack on it. Maybe you can make him an offer on his rack? It's an 84. I'm not sure whether it will fit...others on here would know. See the link--you might get it extra cheap!

I bought my entire setup which includes two bike mounts, two fork mounts, the bars, roof mounts, fairing and a ski rack for $400. It was well worth it. I got it that cheap as REI was having a sale on Thule racks (which they having right now through April).
Avoid the trunk mounts, they tend to dent up the trunk when you go on bumpy roads. I had to replace the entire decklid of my old 98 A4 2.8Q when the trunk mount braces dented my trunklid so bad it wouldn't seal out the rain.
The 4K's use the rain gutter mount which is extremely easy to use, unlike the aeropacks which are a pain. They are also a lot cheaper than the aero pack as you don't have to buy specific (i.e. expensive) aeropacks for a specific car.
I find them greatly useful as they are very adaptable and you can put all sorts of crap on them (at one time I had super bright KC lights attached to the rack, but that is another story).
Here is a pic of what my 4KS looks like with the rack.

It's a gutter mount for the 4k/CGT. You then add the bike racks to it.
I may be interested in selling the basic rack, if you'd want to discuss it. I don't use the CGT to transport the bikes anymore.

As I'm not sure all the fork mounts are compatible with disc brake setup...?

when i bought my 87 4kcsq, previous owner had a thule on the roof with ski attachments too... you need the one for a car with drip rails (obviously). btw everyone i do own a bicycle shop, so in matters such as these you can email me greatgazoo02@hotmail.com with questions. anyway, i wouldnt worry too much about disc compatibility, i know mine has the V-channels with a quick release front and i see no problem with caliper interference. mike if you want, talk to me outside of here and i can send pics, etc...
