Should radiator FAN kickin when AC is working?

It seems to be tied to the compressor. It ALWAYS comes on as soon as the AC is turned on, but it does cycle on and off. On the 2.3, the radiator fan is a 2 speed fan. The high speed comes on with AC and/or when the engine gets hot. It should sound like a tornnado when high kicks in.

As you may or may not know, those relays are notorious for getting hot and melting down. When I got my ride, the relay that turns on the fan when the engine is hot was melted and at one point had drawn so much current that it welded the contacts into the socket. Needless to say, that relay was not working. Vise-Grips to the rescue. I replaced ALL my relays with Siemens. Put them in with dielectric to keep the contacts fresh, and also I put dielectric on the box seal to try stop any moisture that was trying to get in. Next time I get something with a silica gel pack I might throw it in there too...
