so my '82 has the squishy spoiler... can i swap that out for the plastic?

Default They stand up a bit better than the earlier spoilers, though - and some are flexible paint coated
86 CE's and 87.5 have flexible paint on the spoiler.

But many of the later cars w/ those spoilers got fiberglass trunk lids, so nice complete upgrade

Default No, only the Ur-Q post 86 got the fiberglass lid, GT's remained stamped steel.
I've been looking for one, they're uber-uber rare and around 1,000$ out of England.
