I found a rebuild kit for the one on a 4 cylinder but not the one for the 4000q. But if I can just bypass it I will be a lot happier.
You really dont need the pump??? Good brake pressure and all? VERY interested....

You don't *really* need the pump mounted on the side of the cylinder head. Motor normally makes vaccum. THe pump is just to 'help out'.
As that pump has a 'known fault' of it's acutating rod making a lot of noise (sort of sounding like the motor goiong to gernade itself), many owners just remove the vaccum pump rod. That disables the pump.
No one that has removed the rod has managed to notice any differance. (how many have removed that rod? Hands up! Me = x 2 cars!)
About the only time you *would* notice the the rod missing, is when you are on the throttle hard, and applying the brakes repeatably at the same time.
Unless you are doing left foot braking all the time when rally driving, you should be ok ditching the vaccum pump rod, or removing the pump. :-)

I know this thing has a vacuum leak, and my brake pressure has been weak as well as my acceleration. Thus this little POS here is most likely the culperate of all of my problems. Mind you this one is quiet (so the rod is probably remove dalready) but regardless this things going in the box o' stock parts ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Blockoff plate is most likely needed correct?
