Default Strut mount issue - yo suspension guru Justin

Anyone have a suggestion on the slotted nut holding the mounts. I have the tool, but that stupid nut is good & tite. Im afraid of using the impact gun on it...

Thanks,

Hal

Default unfortunately, I didn' t mess with the slotted nut on mine, Hal...

i need to, though, as I have to tear down the other uprights

Mance's CCK doesn't reuse the slotted nut... just a straight bolt up.

BUT, are the springs compressed? As long as you have them compressed, it shouldn't be too difficult to buzz off... and you should be *OK* using an impact wrench on it.

BTW, did you end up going the 034 route? just curious.

Default Well... its really fng stuck..

Went the 034 route for now, when these fail I'll try the other.

Used the impact wrench on the nut tool, and its all messed now. Tried cutting off the mount so I could cut off the nut... broke the blade..lol Anyone have a laser...?

hmmm.

Default ah $hit, sorry Hal....

Dremel tool or angle grinder. That'll cut the mount in half real easy for ya. Then maybe you'll be able to get to the nut to put a set of vices on it. Also, you try torching it a little bit? That also might help.

Default haha... that man must love you by now, huh?

you must have paid for at least one kid's first semester of college :-P

Glad you got it figured out. HOpefully the ones on my uprights come apart easily as I really don't feel like fighting with them.
