Default Suspension bushings

I know these cars love to tear up control arm bushings, and I have some other bushings(swaybar) that need replacing as well. Has anyone found a good complete kit? Has anyone used AudiPoly's bushings?

Default I'm not too worried about harshness.

My current daily driver is wrapped pretty tight in the suspension department. I plan to punish the 4K's suspension pretty good(off-road activity), and I would like to have something a little sturdier than the stock stuff. Delrin would be nice, but I figured that'd be asking too much.

Default You just want to be sure the suspension can take it.

If its the original suspension no matter how sturdy, the system is almost 20 years old.

... and you could talk about your collection of VW's. I just parted with my 85 GTi just before European car started one as a project car. Damn, I still miss that thing! It was a quick little ride!

Default Delrin Bushings

I just replaced my control arm bushings with the delrin kit from Blau. Its not too harsh, but the steering responseis Much better. Theyre not cheap, but considering how much fun (cough) I had changing them these should last a bit longer...

Default Plans for the setup/the VWs

Well, I currently have a set of CQ springs that I'm going to throw on the car, and I'm replacing the things that I need to so I can pass inspection(ball joints, tie rod ends, etc). Meanwhile, I have another complete suspension/subframe setup(and I mean everything) from the '85 that I parted out, so I'm going to rebuild that off of the car, and swap it out with the stuff that's currently on there. That rebuild is going to include Bilsteins and custom springs from Shine, so it'll be pretty stout. What I'd really like to find is a bushing kit that includes control arm, swaybar, subframe, engine/trans mount, and diff mount bushings in polyurethane. I think I recall reading something about a kit for the Audi 80/90 that will work for our cars.

So far as the VWs go, the 4K will be replacing my '88 GLI 16V as my daily driver. That car will be going to my better half, and we're getting rid of her '95 Jetta(POS). I love the GLI, it's an absolute blast to drive, and I may end up doing a 20V swap in the 4K, as it is really just a 16V with an extra cylinder. Beyond those, I have an '81 Scirocco(that I am also trying to sell), and she has an '03 GTI 1.8T. The 4K is the 20th VAG car that I have owned, and my second Audi(if you count the '85 I cut up).

Default I don't think a poly subframe kit is available. Although, you can have one made.

Ive driven a 4kq with subframe polys (in fact, every bushing on the car was poly). It was great. You could throw the car around with ease. Goodluck!

Default You can get a complete polyurethane set ( controls, sways, etc..) from here

So I just went w/ new rubber all around.

http://www.quattrospeed.com/80_90/80-90-susp.htm</a
