Default higher pressure, more "dig", also driving in the snow

lowers pressure a bit... being cold and all

Default Keep it at the factory recommended pressure.

The tires are designed for optimal performance at that pressure, and over or underinflating will reduce their gripping power because the tread won't meet the road as it was designed to do.

Default Ditto on Factory recommended pressure

anyo the pressure dicks with the pressure foot pring of the tire onteh road. For snow/sluch/ice you need it to be nice and even. it give maximum traction and snow clearing.

BTDT leaned the hard way.

If it was better the other way the manufacturers would say so.
