Today's Daily Question #1 - Location of Oil Temp + Pressure senders for 3 Pack analog gauges
Looks like I've got the gauges lined up, but no senders yet. All you 4k kids need to tell me where to look for the senders! I scoured Bentley and couldn't find a darned thing. I'd look it up in ETKA but the computer I have access to right now doesn't have a high enough resolution. : (

ok I can give you the locations on a 5 cyl from an 85 coupe as that is my experience. Not sure if its the same for the 4 cylinder.
Standing in front of the open hood, look down, way down, below your steering pump you will see half of a sphere covering the thermostat. Just aft of that will be two small cans (or in your case empty ports or ports with just switch sensors)..This is where they screw in for the oil pressure and temp.
Now looking from below ( thats rigth get down on your back) right at the bottom of the engine right up front is another switch. it is at the front of the oil pan. If I remember is just a low pressure warning switch.
but they all need to match becasue of the logic circuit used.
If I am remembering correctly the system is set up for a low pressure alarm below 1500 rpm and a low pressure at a higher 2200 rmp.
Anybody who has better info pls jump in and correct me as I'm going by memory as its about 7 years since I worked on that part of the car.
