I like Craftsman too, for what it is (there's nicer stuff, but it's also more expensive).
However, I believe I've been charged before, some small amount, for exchanging a broken ratchet under their warranty.
This was a while back. It was only like $1, and they used the excuse that they needed to ring up the transaction somehow.
Has anyone exchanged a Craftsman tool lately? Is this the current practice?
I could find no reference to this on the Craftsman.com website. I have the memory tho'.

Craftmans is also good, and since I do work at a repair shop, my boss told me that unless you do work in one go with one of the brands that you can get at Sears or Home Depot/Lowes. They are good quality at about 1/4 of the price. Good Luck
