Today I finally got the audi registered here in oregon and was able to drive it on the road legally . When I test drove the car a week ago I was never able to get the car over 35mph (dirt road with lots of gnarly holes). When I bought the car I knew that the slave cylinder needed to be replaced or just blead (if the rain would stop I would figure out which), so the car is kinda unique to drive right now, but when I took it for the longer high speed drive I noticed that the tranny/rear end was making some noise. If I didn't know any better I would assume the tranny had striaght cut gears...

So, is my tranny shot? There dosn't feel like there is any friction within the tranny, and it shifts fine.

Also at the same time it sounds like the noise is comming from the rear end.

I still havn't had the time to do a fluid flush on both the tranny and rear end. What kind of fluid is used in both?

could be wheel bearings... take it into a parking lot and load each side, see if noise gets worse.
