Ummm, convince me not to buy this...

For US market the '84 is the best choice... unique interior only for '84.... and low import #s
Same electrics, suspension and 8" ronals as the '85.... '84 is far better choice for a collector and enthusiast.

Yes, '84 has all of the newer electronics and suspension as well as interior....
The changes occured in mid '83... my '83 VIN 1141 already has the fuse box under hood and newer suspension... from my registry collection it looks like the changes occured between VIN 500 and 600... with some cars being mismatched.
This was discussed on audifans Ur-q list couple of weeks back... also Phil Payne has a site outlining the changes by VIN year breakdown.
ETKA supposts this info with part number spilts in VIN with D letter and some of the stuff like interior starting with F>0001
Hope this helps.

Ooooh, Dave, I dunno...
With 8500 time-capsule miles, think of the potential for guilt and self loathing. I know the first stone chip would put me into a fugue state. Spasms of anguish and regret over a puddle splash would make me sleep in the garage with a 12 guage to ward off evildoers and wayward dust mites. I would be forced to convert said garage into a NASA clean room.
In all seriousness, the future owner will have his work cut out for him keeping it up to snuff. (On the other hand, just preserving it would be like waking up with Denise Richards naked in your bed and asking her to play parcheesi.)
I spoke to the guy putting it on consignment at KAR. He (and others) said it is quite literally new...far better than the UrQ Audi has in the museum.
Conflicted, lapsed Catholic guilt monger,
Jon Monetti

Re: How much do they want for it..?? I belive they are asking $20,000
I concur with coupedude...word on the street is that it will be a $22-25k buy.
Not bad when you consider other UrQ's. I *think* a white '85 (that originally belonged to Joe Hoppen) with 18k on it went for $23k, about two years ago.
