I was wondering if it is true that if you put on a turbo head and cam if it actually gives you significant gains especially ported and polished. Does anyone know?

But it's a mild gain. Frankly, you just don't have the compression to get any big gains without a turbo... The head you want is a NF head, which is the "big valve" head that works with CIS-e. Don't get an NG head, it needs 9injectors in the head, rather than in the manifild.

Both are stock 130 hp Audi engines, 2.3ltr, 10:1 compression. The only real difference is the location of the injectors, NG is in the manifold, NF is in the head (like most CIS cars). The NG came on the 1987.5 CGT and 1988-1990 Audi 90. The NF came on the later 5000.
