Hi all,
I do not know if anyone had this problem, but my upper-radiator hose (big/thick one) on my Audi 4000S does not want to stay on.
It happened that while I was driving, it slipped off and I lost all the coolant. I put it back on, tightened the clamp screw and same thing happened again in like 5 minutes worth of driving. Then I changed the hose clamp with a new one - same thing.
One thing I noticed though is that if you thighten the hose clamp screw to a certain point and then you want to make it thight, the hose starts slipping with each screw turn. So, I loosened the clamp screw at the point where it the hose still doesn't move - it slipped again after 15-20 minutes of driving.
Does anyone know what's the trick to properly thighten the clamp so that the hose will stay on ?
Thanx.

Sure sounds like something is pulling the hose off to me. Just a thought. Worn or broken mounts will cause a massive shift of engine that will certainly stress or unplug something...
Worth a look.
