She has a tremenodus respect for my car... calls it a quattor even ths I've told her it's not. Her's is '93, and green like the one in the photo.
We come in to work on similar roads some days. It's really fun to chase each other on those days. Her car seems to handle the back roads as well as mine, but I think I've the edge on her. Maybe I just push mine a bit more than she does... I've been known to do that.

Although it pulled strong all through the power band, it felt disconnected to the road and had a suprising amount of body roll. I was so upset at selling my GTi to pick up the rado, I sold it first chance for just a little more than I bought it for.
Although my GTi didn't have the same amount of pull, it did handle and feel so much better stock than did the VR6.
BTW, comparing the CGT to both the rado and the GTi, although the coupe isn't as tossable as the GTi, it still handles as well as the GTi and sooo much better than the corrado. The feel in the CGT is more refined yet very connected to the road. And although the CGT didn't have the low end pull, it does have very long legs and travels much easier and smoother at higher speeds.

I got it alot before the body kit went on, but so much more with it. I know it adds Quattro-esque lines to the car (more so than it had stock to begin with). It's fine though, just goes to show that outside Audi circles (no pun intended) that CGTs are rare enough for people not to recognize what they are seeing.
Glad you folks know, tired of explaining it over there.
J.
P.s. When I bought the CGT back in '96 (still stock), I actually wanted a Corrado. They had just been taken out of production a year or so earlier and were still commanding a premium price (I had about $3K in insurance money from the loss of my '79 5KS). I found the CGT (after 6 months searching) for $1800 and thought "This car has massive potential, I'll take it.".
