yeah im pretty sure its the pump. The relay i got off my parts car worked great before the car died.
Can strain be put on a pump from pulling another Audi?...

No, the pump wouldn't know the difference. They're surprisingly tough cars when it comes to dragging stuff around.
Nasty gas or particles from the tank or even just being old would be more likely. I think there's a "universal" high-flow pump that most parts stores carry that will work as a replacement and it's fairly cheap. Last time I had to buy an Audi pump it was like $250...
That is, if your parts car one doesn't work.

jesus! i just priced out a fuel pump and it was 275 dollars, then a used one was 125 which isnt so bad...the only thing is, its used.
i would be glad to buy a universal pump if the reliability is good.

Wow... Well if you want the Bosch one it's much cheaper on Amazon (.com, don't know about .ca):

I'll see if I can find which universal one was supposed to be good.

sorry for the long reply, ive been very busy preparing for grade 11.
The car is still not starting. On the 23 of september is my birthday and my dad is probably going to buy me a fuel pump to get my car on the road so i can get my drivers licence. I will tell you the results.

Got a brand new Bosch fuel pump on my 16th birthday. Me and a friend installed it today and the car fired up great. Its running again so my work shall continue. Im thinking about measuring out all the vacuum lines and such to replace them with new ones. Also got to figure out my dash lights...Does anyone know the correct light bulbs to use in the speedometers? i think they blew up because there not working after some smoke came from the headlight switch.
